We’re Looking for a Technical and Back Stage Assistant

A vacancy exists at Dance Cork Firkin Crane, Shandon, Cork, for a Technical and Back Stage Assistant at a busy arts venue.

This opportunity is suitable for someone who is interested in gaining valuable experience working in performing arts under an experienced technical manager and team. The venue
presents a variety of performances throughout the year including dance, theatre, stage shows, music concerts and more.

You will assist our technical manager and crew to help setup shows. Duties will include: rigging lights, running cables, working with the technical manager to prepare for shows/events, and maintaining the technical equipment and the venue.

Interest and enthusiasm in the arts is an advantage. Fluent spoken English is essential.

Technical experience / knowledge in computer software and programmes, and office equipment is preferred. This is a development opportunity – no previous experience needed. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The position is for 19.5 hours per week, and some flexibility is required in relation to hours.
