Alberto denis

Alberto Denis will use his time in the studio to further develop the groundwork for an immersive dance/theatre work tentatively titled Madame JoJo's inspired by the life of Josephine Baker, while also drawing from several strong marginalized female artists of the past century. This project will have its debut in autumn 2022 or spring 2023 in NYC.

Denis' practice is rooted in his decade of experience as a core collaborator and company member of Third Rail Projects, an immersive theatre company in New York, and shaped by his international career as a burlesque performer. He also worked in technical theatre, and will bring that experience to the creation of theatrical magic.
