Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: Your Voice Work-in-Progress Sharing

Sounds From A Safe Harbour Present Your Voice Work-in-Progress Sharing by Simon Stephens

Sounds From a Safe Harbour presents a Work-in-progress sharing of Your Voice by Simon Stephens, a co-production with the Abbey Theatre at Dance Cork Firkin Crane. Booking is essential for this FREE event.

Your Voice is a unique collaboration between playwright Simon Stephens, choreographer Imogen Knight, and drum and bass DJ Lincoln Barrett whose Stage name is High Contrast. Read by celebrated Irish actor Jessie Buckley, Your Voice is an extraordinary musical and poetic exploration of the entire life of one woman in the space of an hour using elements of dance, sculpture, music, and language. Featuring dancers from MTU Cork and actor Donál Finn.

Simon Stephens is one of the UK's most prolific and celebrated playwrights and we are really, really happy to welcome him to Cork (finally) and to SFSH. For more than 25 years Stephens’ work has been widely translated and produced throughout the world. He has won many Awards including Olivier and Tony Awards for new plays. His most famous play is his adaptation of Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. He has had thirty five original plays produced professionally.
