Sara Hernandez will teach the weekly professional class for 2 weeks this May.
The session will begin with a warm-up to awaken the senses and bring awareness to the space and our bodies. We will explore different possibilities of moving organically, trusting our own movement intuition, releasing tension in the body to create muscle relaxation, spinal articulation and freedom of movement. Using the centre of gravity we will move through some floor phrases focusing on the release of the body weight and the use of the breath.
We will continue with dynamic choreographic sequences. We will be using different directions, energy to flow, weight, spirals, suspensions and balance as we move through the space. This class will also focus on guided exercises using the imagination, sensory awareness and visualisations to discover new ways of creating expressive movement.
