Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: Weekly Professional class with Rachel Sheil

Professional Class with Rachel Sheil.

Rachel Sheil will be in residency at Dance Cork Firkin Crane this October where she will explore and interrogate her own choreographic practice towards a goal of creating a new solo and use this time to deepen and question her practice. Rachel has Contemporary Dance and Street Dance experience, and derives movement from comic books, anime, TV and fantasy media.

Thursday's class will be a mixture of Improvisation, Contemporary practice based warm-up exercises and some elements of Street Dance sprinkled in. Rachel will also be sharing some creative tasks she plays with in the studio when making work. This might include echoes of Clown as well as communicating how she derives movement from comic books, anime and other fantasy media.
