Isabella Oberländer teaches the weekly class on 10 October
Isabella Oberländer and Fearghus Ó Conchúir will teach a class this October, ahead of Tearmann Aiteach / Queer Sanctuary with on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October 2024.
They will be sharing some of their influences and ways of working with improvisation and choreographic containers that have shaped their collaborative practice. Utilising chi-cultivation exercises for our warm-up, embracing the body as material, listening to our states of dance and playing with energetic architectures.
Tearmann Aiteach / Queer Sanctuary opens a welcoming space of queer sanctuary that supports flourishing, solidarity, and spritely sparkle, that has grown out of Isabella’s and Fearghus’s separate practices as artists of different genders, generations and nationalities. Their dancing together celebrates what's possible between their queer bodies and others, and this class invites you to come be a part of that exploration, to dive in.
Isabella Oberländer is a dance artist whose choreography and performance practice have aligned her work with a range of queer and feminist art-making in Ireland. Fearghus is a dance artist whose work has investigated the politics of gay experience in Ireland.
