Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: Tides of Tradition

Irish music and dance that celebrates the rich heritage and evolving spirit of Ireland

TICKETS ON SALE THURSDAY 30 APRIL AT 1PM

Tides of Tradition is an exciting new Irish music and dance production that celebrates the rich heritage and evolving spirit of Ireland. Following a hugely successful debut season in Kinsale in 2025, the show captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling, dynamic choreography and vibrant energy. This unique and immersive spectacle is making its debut on theatre stages this summer.

The production unfolds in two distinct acts. The first is rooted in old Ireland, drawing on tradition and history, with a strong emotional focus on the theme of emigration. Through expressive dance, music and song, it tells stories of departures from home. The second act bursts into life with a modern twist of electrifying fusion and contemporary energy, showcasing Ireland’s culture in the modern day. Featuring local Cork songs and compositions, and with original choreography throughout, Tides of Tradition offers a fresh and exciting perspective on Ireland’s rich culture.

Tides of Tradition showcases an all-star cast of local dancers and musicians, many of whom have toured internationally with productions such as Lord of the Dance. Tides of Tradition offers audiences a moving and memorable theatrical experience that bridges past and present Ireland through music and movement.
