Informal showing of residency work
After her second week’s residency at Dance Cork Firkin Crane, Magdalena Hylak will open the studio doors to share what she has worked on in the studio during the week. For this project Hylak will focus on putting live music at the centre of the working process and going beyond the questions of style and genre into the physicality and the loudness of movement and sound confrontation.
Magdalena Hylak, Clifden based dancer and choreographer, is questioning "what is dance (and so music)?" and its function in a human being; with sound designer Lionel Kasparian, she will explore the relationships and tensions between intimacy-shared, public-personal, inside-outside, visible-invisible.
