Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: OFFSPRING (A MODERN FRANKENSTEIN) BY EMILY TERNDRUP

OFFSPRING (A Modern Frankenstein) is a visceral reimagining of Mary Shelley's iconic novel

We are thrilled to present a preview of Emily Terndrup's OFFSPRING (A Modern Frankenstein): A visceral reimagining of Mary Shelley's iconic novel, Frankenstein, that fuses dance, theatre, and visual storytelling into a genre-smashing confrontation of the thrill and terror of creation – in life, in art and in the body. As the artist at the centre of the work grapples with conflicting desires of motherhood and artistic expression, the lines between creator and creature blur.

Electrifyingly physical, darkly funny and unflinchingly intimate, this high-voltage dissection of a classic tale exposes urgent questions of creation and consequence in an increasingly unstable world.

Emily is in residence at Dance Cork Firkin Crane in August to develop this work. OFFSPRING (A Modern Frankenstein) will premiere in Dublin later this year.
