In this supported research residency, Noelle Ní Ríagain and Lidija Šola with direction of Cormac Mohally will be developing their new work titled Now and Then. This performance explores the humorous clash of lifestyles between Nancy, the laid-back grandma next door, and Pookie, a social media sensation. This humorous and engaging performance highlighting the generational divide and the impact of technology on our lives is a non-verbal show expressed through theatrical clowning, slapstick and aerial acrobatics.
Noelle Ní Ríagain is an Irish Artist who works in the medium of Physical Theatre and Clown. She is a graduate of the Cork College of FET and studied clowning in Toronto with Sue Morrision. Noelle's artistic practice is rooted in a fascination with human relationships and the power of non-verbal storytelling. Her work is infused with a sense of playfulness and a deep respect for the circus and street arts. Noelle is co - director of Pitch'd Productions LTD, a circus and street arts company.
Lidija Šola is a Croatian contemporary circus artist, and co-founder of Tricycle Trauma, an experimental circus collective. She’s been a part of the independent art scene for over a decade as a performer, author and producer. Her background is richly diverse, with a Master of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Zagreb and extensive experience in aerial acrobatics, dance and physical theatre.
