We are delighted to announce that Inclusive Dance Cork has been selected by the Lord Mayor, Cllr. Dan Boyle, as one of three charity organisations for this year’s Lord Mayor’s Gala Christmas Concert alongside Balance Summer Camp and Cork Penny Dinners. Funds raised at the concert on December 7th at Cork City Hall will directly support the impactful work of each charity.

To celebrate this recognition, Inclusive Dance Cork was invited to take part in the special launch evening for the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala on October 23rd. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase Inclusive Dance Cork and highlight the positive effect our program has on participants and their extended network of family and friends. For the launch, a new dance was co-created by Maeve Kelleher and IDC Artistic Director Rhona Coughlan, featuring four past IDC participants: Iona Pegler, Rebecca Griffin, Juliet Malone, and Emily Coleman. We’re truly honoured by the Lord Mayor’s recognition, as the visibility and financial support from this event will make a significant difference as we move forward with our 2025 training program.

This year’s Christmas Gala will feature a spectacular lineup, including talented soloists Majella Cullagh, Stephanie Rainey, Lady Fi, Kevin Walsh, Lottie O’Driscoll and Eamon Keane joined by the Cork Concert Orchestra and an ensemble of local talent such as Pakie O’Callaghan, Montforts Youth Choir, Choral Con Fusion, Kylana Ukrainian Choir, City Hall Singers, Citadel, and the Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance.

Everyone can be part of this festive charitable event by grabbing a ticket for what promises to be a heartwarming night featuring a blend of traditional Christmas favourites and a showcase of Cork’s vibrant multicultural community—all in support of local charities.Tickets are available for purchase from Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett St, or online from The Everyman [ Ticket link here ] from October 23rd, 2024.
