Magdalena Hylak returns to DCFC to develop her first ensemble work, Racket. She will be joined by longtime collaborator and composer Lionel Kasparian, dramaturg Eva Martinez, and an international cast of dancers including Isabella Oberländer, Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín, and Ashley Chen.

With Racket, Magdalena continues her exploration of the relationship between movement and sound, placing particular emphasis on the spaces that emerge between bodies. Moving beyond the frameworks of solo and duet, this new ensemble work opens up a field of interaction.

Magdalena Hylak is a dance artist based in Ireland. She has been developing her own body of work since 2021, in which she questions the notion of performance. At the core of her research is the movement and sound outside of the question of style/genre or technique. She has been the Galway Dance Artist in Residence since 2023. She is Dance Limerick's Associate Artist for 2026.

Support by the Arts Council (Project Award 2026), Dance Cork Firkin Crane, Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick, and Luail-Ireland’s National Dance Company.
