Lisa Cliffe will be in residence at Dance Cork Firkin Crane this September

The goal of Lisa’s residency is to invest in a process of dance-making with artistic partners and children aged 8 to 11 yrs. Lisa wishes to deconstruct what she understands as ‘creative dance for children’.

A key inquiry Lisa holds close during the residency is ‘what is it to nurture and support a felt sense of play and playfulness in a dance experience for children and how is this being facilitated in the body for everyone?’

Lisa Cliffe is a mother, contemporary dance artist, farmer, movement facilitator and educator. Originally from Co. Limerick, Lisa has cultivated her dance practice in Cork since 2017. Formerly a primary teacher, she holds an MA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She has been a Creative Associate with the Arts Council’s Creative Schools Programme since 2019.

Funded by The Arts Council.
