Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: Florance

Florance is an installation piece that is part of a larger story to be presented at Dance Cork Firkin Crane - All the Relations. This piece looks at our relationship to our surroundings.

Florance is an installation piece that is part of a larger story to be presented at Dance Cork Firkin Crane on Friday 1 December, All the Relations. This piece looks at our relationship to our surroundings.

Florance tells a fantastical story about the dominance of nature through the eyes of an art historian specialising in gardens, who is also caring for an ailing mother. The question that Florance considers is the relationship between individuality and symbolism.

Florance was created remotely, for the most part - written, rehearsed, filmed and recorded in separate places at different times with four dancers, one actor, a string quartet, a team of designers and a filmmaker.
