Join us for two special, free events as part of Culture Night in Cork City.

Performance by Bill Irwin 6:30pm-7pm | Outisde Dance Cork Firkin Crane (weather permitting!), Musgrave Theatre if it's raining.

In the Spring 2020 lockdown in New York, Bill Irwin found him self thinking about old rhymes and old dancing — and the possibility of getting back to the street performing of his youth. Audiences were masked and distant, but ready to see shows. He’s still looking at this format now in the Autumn of 2022 — on the streets of Cork. We'll see what happens...

About Bill Irwin

Bill Irwin is an actor, director, writer, and clown. His original works include The Regard of Flight; Largely New York ; Fool Moon; Old Hats, The Happiness Lecture; and others. His theatre credits include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Goat, Waiting for Godot, Endgame, and ON BECKETT, an evening of passages from Samuel Beckett’s work. On television, Irwin can be seen in character roles including Mr. Noodle of Elmo’s World, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Eight Men Out, and Stepping Out. Irwin gratefully acknowledges the awards and fellowships that have allowed him to continue exploring the theatre.

Dance Cork Firkin Crane welcomes you to an exhibition celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Firkin Crane’s commitment to the artform of dance. Inaugurating Crane Visual, the exhibition features a series of posters, images and photographs depicting the history of the Firkin Crane building, as well as events and performances that have taken place over the last 30 years. A screening of recent dance films by choreographers born or based in Cork is featured. Curated by Dermot Browne. For more info click here.
