Cine Club: Dancing in the Light

Cine Club: Dance on Film is a regular evening of dance film screenings at Dance Cork Firkin Crane. Curated by Luke Murphy - Attic Projects, Cork city dance artist in residence, Cine Club is an informal, relaxed night of short and feature-length dance films (and popcorn) from Irish and international artists.

Dancing in the Light is produced by The American Dance Festival showcasing 6 historic dance compositions by African American choreographers. The dances include Ostrich by Asadata Dafora, Barrelhouse Blues by Katherine Dunham, Strange Fruit by Pearl Primus, Mourner's Bench by Talley Beatty, Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder by Donald McKayle, and Section 1 of D-Man in the Waters by Bill T. Jones.
