Catch8 Workshop Series

An intensive programme of workshops focused on training and creation for professional dancers. Curated by Luke Murphy, this highly regarded series returns to Firkin Crane in its original format following sold-out success from 2017-2019.

The series is structured as two workshops per day from 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm. The full week is €240 or individual days can be booked for €40 (see full schedule here).

The masterclass workshops will be taught by leading national and international dance professionals: Guilhem Chatir (Akram Khan, Ultima Vez, Lali Ayguadé), Shawn Fitzgerald Ahern (Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), Karolina Szymura, Juliette Valerio, Luke Murphy, Lucia Kickham, Sarah Reynolds, German Jauregui and Philip Connaughton.

The Catch8 Workshop Series was launched in 2017, running for eight days during that year’s Cork Midsummer Festival. An initiative by Luke Murphy/Attic Projects, the series gives an intimate group of professional dancers (max 25) the opportunity to work with a rotating faculty of choreographers and dancers who are at the very height of the field.

The Catch8 Workshop Series was founded to bridge a needed gap within Ireland, providing world-class professional development through an accessible and affordable programme within the country. For eight days dancers train, study and are exposed to approaches to movement and technique.

Please note: This is an intensive workshop series for professional dancers or students in the advanced stages of professional training, and is a great opportunity to invest in developing your professional practice and engage with internationally recognised dance artists.
