The cycle of change and growth is something our body inherently knows, we encounter this again and again through our engagement with time, through our body systems, our patterns of behavior and expression but how rarely we perceive this in the moment it’s happening.
Through movement, somatics, rest and reflection we will enquire how the themes of growth, change and adaptation express themselves in our being, moving and making.
These workshops are influenced by my practice and experience in somatics, somatic movement therapy, Amerta movement, embodied and experiential anatomy, mindfulness, embryology, and Buddhism and are created in the knowing that all embodied experience is individual and always changing.
Laura O'Brien, M.A., I.S.M.E.T.A., is a registered somatic movement therapist and Amerta movement practitioner. For over 20 years she has personally and professionally explored yoga, dance, healing, movement and somatics. She supports groups and individuals in spaces that enhance creativity, awareness and transformation through movement, presence, and embodiment.
