Antonio Di Mare presents Anatomy For a Day or The Anti-Prometheus

TICKETS ON SALE THURSDAY 26 MARCH 2026 AT 1PM

The play is a post contemporary drama about two characters who engage in a dialogue with God Prometheus. Techné is a word from the ancient Greek often connected with the skill or capacity of doing, where the intellectual knowledge was combined with practical execution. The myth of Prometheus tells the story of the Greek God who has stolen the secret of the fire from the Gods and has given it to the Man, and by doing this, he has translated the possibility of creating something as divine capacity. The play Anatomy for a day or the Anti-Prometheus has been developed over the arc of six years: the play embodies a journey which starts from the Covid where the possibilities of actually doing something where drastically reduced as the possibilities of establishing human relationships who has been challenged in many different ways. What's the blocking mechanism that does prevent any action? The play through two characters, which are both parts of the same persona, shows the conditions to (perhaps) unlock this mechanism.

Antonio Di Mare was born in Naples, Italy, based in Cork since 2021, he has widely established himself in the electric cultural scene in Cork since then. He has worked as Assistant Director for a Youth Theatre in Dundalk, Co. Louth, called "Mad Youth Theatre" working with children and teenagers, he gained experience also with Louth Filmakers Society in film production, direction and screenwriting and has worked for several newspapers where he has done reviews of many theatre plays from the ancient Theatre Greek to the contemporary plays of Beckett and Ibsen. Anatomy for a day or the Anti-Prometheus is the first work where he is Creative Director, Executive Producer and Screenwriter.
