attune, transitive verb ...
1 :: bringing into harmony
2 :: making aware or responsive
Attuning may be described as a psycho-somatic ‘listening practice’. Through gentle somatically oriented movement improvisations, alongside compositional explorations, a 3-fold map supports our 3-fold listening:
3 Spaces Inner Space – Outer Space – Third NonSpace
3 Capacities of Awareness Sensory - Kinaesthetic - Energetic
3 Centres of Intelligence Belly – Heart – Head
Attuning evolved within Mairead’s 30-year professional dance & choreographic practice. While framed within the context of her Arts Practice PhD, Attuning is the Source through which Mairead’s dance practice & creative process continues to evolve. This practice is informed by Somatic Movement & Choreographic Practice, alongside Bio-Dynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy.
Please bring warm comfortable indoor and outdoor clothing you can move in, a yoga mat & reflective writing/drawing materials.
This workshop is open to performers and all artists interested in working with an embodied approach.
