Open Call: professional Dance artists

Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork: Open Call: professional Dance artists

Research for dance performance for toddlers and their ad

Helga Deasy, Dance Artist in Residence with Graffiti Theatre, is seeking expressions of interest from professional dancers for the participation in the research and development of a new dance performance for toddlers and their adults.

The research will be centred around the theme of construction and deconstruction and focus on the exploration of choreographic scores that are task-based, playful, imaginative and open-ended. The work will involve collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team including other dancers, a visual artist and a composer/musician and invite toddlers and their adults on two occasions to join the process and experience the work.

Prior experience of working with this age group is not a requirement, however openness and enjoyment to engage with the very young is a must.

The research and development will take place on the following dates at Graffiti Theatre, Assumption Road, Blackpool, Cork City:

Friday, Oct 6th
Friday, Oct 13th
November 2nd – 4th
December 6th – 9th

Accommodation will be provided if travelling from outside of County Cork. Dancer’s fee available on request.

Please send queries and expressions of interest including a CV and a video of you dancing to helga.deasy@gmail.com.
