DANCE FOR NOBODY workshop for movement & sound
Clifden-based dance artist Magdalena Hylak is nationally known for her work with Irish choreographers such as Catherine Young or John Scott, and internationally with Compagnie Nacera Belaza (FR).
Magdalena is leading a professional class at Firkin Crane on Thursday 18 August at 11am. This class/workshop offers a unique opportunity to question the place of dance as a human being, outside the context of technique, style, performance or social needs. This class is a part of residency at Firkin Crane, where Magdalena will be joined by Brussels based live sound artist Lionel Kasparian, who is working with her on her personal projects. For this class/workshop, his experimental work will allow the breaking down of traditional musical boundaries with the aim of liberating the movement from the questions of style.
You can attend (in person only) via the Book Now button. Doors open 10.50am.
